remotely surfing the web
through my home pc using
vpn

I've got a small problem.
I travel often and can't
trust network connections
from hotels, where i
stay. I have two pc's --
a home/business desktop
and my notebook. I
understand that the best
way to get a trusted
connection would be to
setup a vpn connection
from my notebook to my
home desktop. After
connecting to my home pc,
i can use my home
internet connection to
surf the web. The problem
is i don't know much
about vpn and need help
setting up a
connection.
I'd
really appreciate it if
someone can help me do
two things -- 1) teach me
how i can make my home pc
accept a vpn connection
from my notebook 2) teach
me how to make my
notebook connect to the
home pc.
i don't
care about file sharing
between the two
computers. i just want my
home pc to act sort of
like a proxy and allow my
notebook to surf the web

VPN Reqirements.
----------
Requirement for VPN
connection:
VPN
router.
VPN Client
software.
You need to
get a static Ip addr for
internet connection for
Internet service
provider.
The VPN
router must be configured
for home PC.
You need
to install the VPN Client
software.
First
step, you need to
configure the VPN
settings on the
router.
second, the
settings which we
configured on router,
should configure on VPN
client software.
When
you away from home or
wherever you are, you can
connect to your home PC
through VPN client
software which is more
secured and faster
access.
Let me
suggest a product. In
netgear, FVS318 VPN
router also client
software is available in
netgear.(easy to
configure). |
