VPN problem ---------- I am getting problems in
setting up our VPN
between our
headquarter office and
branch office.
The current
situation is as the
following:
(0)I
need to join our branch
office LAN to our
headquarter office LAN
using VPN. Our
headquarter LAN domain is
"ABC.ORG", it's based on
Windows 2000 Server and
active directoried.
(1) Our ISP (we
use ADSL Internet access)
has already
created VPN tunnel
between our Netscreen 5XP
Elite firewalls between
our headquarter and
branch usnig
L2TP.
(2) We also
have a website host
by another company, so
they hold
the "www.ABC.org" name
and our website, this
website has a public IP
address
(A1.B1.C1.D1)
(3)Our haedquarter site
network server is a
primary domain controller
(ABC.ORG), it's
running an Exchange
server 2000 (Windows 2000
Server) as well.
This server has a
mapping public IP address
(A2.B2.C2.D2)
(4)
The problem is: when I at
branch trying
to connect to quarter
site PDC, it
automatically goes
to the public domain
name (A1.B1.C1.D1) which
is our website's
address and defenitely
it doesn't work although
the VPN tunnel is
ready there.
(?)
How can I make our branch
LAN could find our
headquarter domain
(A2.B2.C2.D2) and connect
it through
VPN?
help really
appreciate | vpnChris Member since: 2002-12-10 21:38:54 | posted: 2002-12-10 21:55:07 which domain? ---------- Which domain, are you
trying to login to? the
windows domain? or the
fully qualified domain?
Would you happen to be
using public dns? I could
see this happening if you
were using some ISP dns.
If you were to switch the
dns, to something
in-house, what that have
a different or better
effect?
lemme
know, 2 heads are better
than one ;)
