problem (long text) ---------- Hi.
I'm using a
DSL-connection to connect
to my office. I'm
using a "SMC Barricade
7008" to connect via
T-DSL to a "Sonicwall
Pro" (connected to a
G-703 link). since the
DSL-router doesnt do VPN
in hardware, i use the
Sonicwall VPN-Client on
my laptop.
VPN
works basically (using
IKE), meaning i can ping
all remote
machines, with 70ms
response time.
But
something seems to be
very wrong:
- I
can telnet a UNIX-box
(running solaris 7),
login is okay, i can do
a "ls" (brings right
answer), but as soon as I
try a "ls -l" the
connection hangs,
after a few minutes it
says "connection to host
lost". but only
"ls" (without "-l"
works inifinte times). i
login as root.
- i
can telnet to port 80
(http) on the same
UNIX-box, even do a
"GET /index.html"
(brings the standard
apache startup page,
which is right), but i
can not view this page
using a browser and
pointing it the ip-adress
of the
server.
- i can
ping the email-server,
can to a telnet to port
25 (does not
accept message with
"relaying denied" since i
am not coming from the
right ip-adress-range)
. i can to a telnet to
110 (login works, it
displays "93 messages
in inbox", but as soons
as i want to display a
message it hangs, then
times out). same thing
seems to happen if it use
a real
email-client and not
telnetting to
smtp/pop-ports.
I
do not have access rules
implemented in my
dsl-router (block
nothing), and the log
of the vpn-client only
displays messages like
"key exchange
okay" and nothing
else, so i'm
stuck.
does
anybody have an idea what
can be
wrong?
Thanks in
advance,
stefan
