remote office and I have
5 users. Currently we
have an ADSL connection
(dynamic addresses), and
we can connect one user
at a time to the main
server using Cisco VPN
dialer software. Whenever
we try to connect the
second user
(simultanously!) the
conneciton fails to get
established. I am not
sure why this is
happenning can anyone
give a hand with this??
(I think it may
be related to the IP
addresses but I am not
sure) | Firewalls.com Member since: 2003-07-08 05:58:53 | posted: 2003-07-08 06:02:42 NATed IP ---------- The problem is that you
are running NAT at your
remote office.
Specifically,
when user1 creates a
tunnel to the firewall
the firewall recognizes
user1 with the public IP
address of the NAT
device. When user2 tries
to connect they apprear
to the firewall as the
same IP address.
Therefore, due to
packet sequencing only
one user can connect
using the
client.
The best
solution is to install a
firewall that can build a
VPN tunnel to the mail
location. Then all users
behind the firewall can
access resources on the
other side of the VPN
tunnel. |
