Public IP ---------- I have a Windows 2003
server directly connected
to the internet with one
NIC and one public
IP.
I have been
trying to set this up as
a VPN server so that
clients can connect to it
and use it as a remote
gateway such that all
traffic goes out on that
public IP.
I would
prefer to use Windows VPN
(PPTP) since that way all
client computers already
have the VPN client
installed, but I would be
OK with using
OpenVPN.
I spend
hours upon hours trying
to accomplish this and
tried several VPN
solutions including the
two mentioned above, but
I cannot seem to get it
working.
I have
been led to believe that
I need to setup a
loopback adapter with a
local IP address and
enable DHCP and routing
on that adapter. Then
somehow set it to use the
real adapter as a gateway
to the internet.
I
am pretty good with
networking and TCP/IP but
I have not had any
success, so any help
would be
appreciated.
Thank
s, Simon
