with how a VPN works (I'm
trying to learn more and
more), but does a VPN
mask/hide your traffic
via encryption to the
network you are using to
connect to the
VPN?
A good
example:
Employee
1 has no VPN, and browses
away on the internet at
work (on his personal
laptop). Mr IT Admin sees
every sight he goes to,
and all of his instant
messages via packet
captures on the outbound
router.
Employee 2
has a VPN setup to his
home and keeps it
connected (on his
personal laptop) since he
doesn't need access to
the company network. He
also browses the internet
and sends instant
messages. When looking at
the packet captures can
one see what Employee 2
has done? Or will there
just be a large amount of
unreadable traffic going
to one address (which
would be the VPN server)? |
