implement a vpn solution.
We have our first w2k
server up and running.
It is connected to the
internet. I have been
able to connect via the
remote connection through
my ISP. I am using a w2k
pro as a test. Now, we
want to get a VPN
solution that will work
for all types of clients
via their ISP connection.
The company currently
has 3-5 employees most,
all, connect remotely.
What VPN solutions do
others here recommend for
a small company wanting
to share files and
connect to databases on
the server?
Thanks
in advance for your
expert
suggestions.

FVS318 by Netgear. It
has eight ports and can
terminate up to 8 VPN
tunnels simultaneously.
I think you can get one
for around $150 in
retail. A good fit for
small businesses. | jimhagman Member since: 2002-07-02 00:20:28 | posted: 2002-07-02 00:28:36 VPN Client? ---------- If the FVS318 from
Netgear is purchased,
what do the clients that
want to access the server
need to have in order to
connect? ANy suggestions
on VPN software? The
clients will be Windows
98 or possibly Windows
XP.

the W2k Server remote
access and the VPN it
has. What I can't get to
work is a non W2k system
to access it properly.
Any ideas? I would like
to use this no-cost
option before purchasing
products. Thanks. | WobbieBwown Member since: 2002-10-09 09:32:56 | posted: 2002-10-09 09:56:57 Netgear Client ---------- I am also interested in
products that will work
with the Netgear FSV318.
Safenet-inc. has a
product that runs about
$150, and I guess one
could use MS native VPN
client software. I'm
hesitant to use
Microshaft's. I think it
could work, but it has a
bad reputation. I'd
rather spend a little
money for something that
WILL work. If anyone
knows of other products,
please post. |
