is a new Nortel VPN
client (4.1). Is this
true? I need the new
client becaue it
apparently is compatible
with Windows XP.
Anyone have
suggestions for other VPN
client that are supported
on Windows XP? | phildom Member since: 2001-11-20 10:00:00 | posted: 2001-12-02 14:02:09 Nortel 4.10 client ---------- Nortel has released it's
4.10 client and it
supports XP. Nortel also
announced that a new
client will be released,
not saying when however,
that will support Mac OS,
Win 98/2k/XP/ME/NT, Linux
and more. For now, I'd
pick up the 4.10 client
and use it. There are
some issues, for
instance, on the
management side you'll
need to make sure of the
following: If your
Contivity management
software is older than
3.5, upgrade it. If
you have later than 3.5,
your fine because the
4.10 is backwards
compatible. Your
administrator can check
out under Groups>Wins
Address There needs
to be a Wins Address. If
there is and you can
connect to the
network but you can't
browse, then while your
connected, your admin
can run an ipconfig/all
and see if the Wins
Address is listed. If
it isn't listed then
you've run into a known
problem and you need
to call Nortel, they have
a new beta client 4.12
that solves the
issue, however it's got
other issues. 4.12 must
be set up as a
service rather than
an application. |
