Encryption via VPN ---------- I'm in the process of
determining an
appropriate VPN/Firewall
solution for a small
business. My intention
is for remote users to be
able to log into our NT 4
domain via a
VPN.
However, I'm
a bit concerned about
security. When the user
logs into his/her account
on NT after being
authenticated by the VPN,
are the username and
password encrypted or
protected in any way? If
so, how? If not, doesn't
this present a serious
security issue? | phildom Member since: 2001-11-20 10:00:00 | posted: 2002-03-05 17:55:30 NT VPN solution ---------- Your traffic will be
encapsulated and
therefore the username
and password will not be
passed in the clear. It
is encrypted typically
with 128bit or 168bit
encryption. Very
secure. As far as VPN
appliances, I would
recommend looking at the
Netscreen 5XP, SonicWall,
SnapGear and Advanta. All

Hardware link under the
