VPN access to a small
business office from
mobile workers. The
mobile workers are
running either Win2k ro
WinXP. The Linksys
BEFVP41 will be connected
to the net using a cable
modem, with IPSEC
enable.
The
question I have is...
Will the Linksys BEFVP41
router be able to handle
both in-bound VPN
connections and out-bound
internet traffic
simultaneously? In other
words, will staff in the
office be able to get to
the Internet, will the
router has active VPN
sessions running from the
mobile workers? | phildom Member since: 2001-11-20 10:00:00 | posted: 2002-03-25 17:11:41 Linksys BEFVP41 Split
Tunneling ---------- Andy, I think you're
talking about split
tunneling. It's
inherently insecure and
therefore I recommend not
using it. However,
Linksys says that split
tunneling is possible
through their BEFVP41 VPN
router. | andy11261 Member since: 2002-03-23 16:12:28 | posted: 2002-03-25 22:36:05 Update from Linksys ---------- Phil,
Thanks for
the update. What are the
dangers of split
tunneling?
Here is
what Linksys had to
say:
To Our Valued

Thank You for
contacting Linksys

regards to your question,
yes your users behind the
router can still access
the internet while a VPN
session is effect.The
security of your session
will not be compromised
when users behind the
router access the
internet. If
