THROUGH DIALUP INTERNET
AT THE SAME TIME ? |

through dialup internet
at the same time ? ---------- Hi, Our client wishes
to allow access two (2)
independent VPNs to
its staff on their
existing office LAN. They
have only one Telephone
line available for
dialing to their ISP for
internet connection
through dial-up
modem. 8 PCs are
running on Win98Se and 2
on Win XP. They just have
a normal dialup modem,
which allows Internet
sharing on the LAN.
Through this setup at
the moment they are able
to connect to one VPN at
one time at the
moment. But now their
requirement has increased
from 1VPN to
2 VPN. Pls suggest
that for this they need
some hardware or it could
be done through
software too, like
installing Win2K-Prof on
their office server
etc etc.

possible, as each VPN
should have its own IP
address, and if there is
only one modem, all the
clients trying to connect
will use the same IP,
thus only one VPN can be
made, not 100% sure, but
this is the way it has
worked for me. You would
need to add a VPN router
of sorts to allow the
multiple passthru. | WV Member since: 2003-09-25 13:47:03 | posted: 2003-09-25 14:01:01 maybe this might work ---------- If using NT/2000 you can
use RRAS and make the one
internet connection route
to both VPN's. Making
your windows box a VPN
router. Not sure what
you are asking for? Are
these computers remote
vpn clients? |
