Cisco 3005 VPN Placement

Hi! I am implementing a
Cisco 3005 VPN
Concentrator in our
network environment, and
i need to know what is
the best placement for
the VPN. The Cisco
documentation has the
private interface going
straight to the network,
is this a good idea?
Should it go through the
firewall? If so, how can
this be accomplished?
