setting up a VPN for a
client, and made the
mistake of purchasing a
D-Link 804V "VPN router".
It clearly on the box
states that it is "Fully
XP compatible", but after
hours of tech-support
troubleshooting, I
finally spoke to a D-link
engineer who told me that
it only support VPN
tunnels to other 804-V
routers and linux.
SO, I'm left
trying to hustle to find
a replacement router.
I've looked at the
Netopia R910 and some
others, but I dont want
to be burned twice. The
functionality I need
is:
A broadband
router that has built-in
NAT and DHCP, that will
accept incoming VPN
(Ipsec/PPTP/L2TP)
connections from
dynamically (but
publically) IP'ed
workstations running
windows XP. Anyone have
any experience with the
R910 or any other router
in it's class in doing
just that? The location
that the router will be
installed has a static,
public IP on a DSL line. |
