Basic problem with VPN
----------
I have been able to create and connect to another computer over the Internet with a VPN. Problem is, how do I access the other computer. I have the same workgroup name on both computers. I thought this would work just like connecting to a computer on my LAN? I am running XP Pro, the remote is running Windows 2000. As I said, it connects up great (and fast), but when I try to list all the computers in my workgroup, only my laptop shows up (remote not seen even though connection has been made). Both connections are high sppen DSL. Please tell me what I am doing wrong or what I should expect. Thanks!!!

This seems to be a popular problem with XP and Win2000

I am having the exact same problem. I connect to my VPN just fine(instantly practically), but when I go to view all
computers in my Workgroup. It will not allow me to access them. I get some kind of error message about access rights. ???? I hope someone is kind enought to answer this question. Thanks, Wiffy3

Re: Basic Problem

Have you setup a user setting in the "Users" tab in the "Properties" of the "Incoming Connections" in Network Connections on the Server? If not, you'll need to do so or check with the system or Network Administrator and have a proper user setting with the appropiate permissions set for browsing the network.
