I am having a
little trouble with the
VPN connection to my
office. I am new to VPN
and just found out that
my office's firewall,
which is an old win98 pc
that is running the
firewall from a CD-Rom
and Floppy disk, has VPN
abilities.
So I
created a user name and
password in the firewall
control panel.
Now
on my PC at home, which
is running Win XP Home, I
am using windows standard
VPN connection software
under Network
Connections. I setup the
IP address to connect to,
name the connection, etc.
I enter my user name &
password and push
connect. The connection
is established. and I can
access my office's
network.
This is
the problem I am having,
my PC at home acts like
it has lost connection to
the internet and I am
unable to check e-mails,
or use my web browser for
anything except accessing
the firewall at my office
to change
settings.
I have a
broadband internet
connection which I access
via a Linksys router with
NAT enabled. My home PC
has a static IP
address.
Any ideas
what I am doing wrong or
is it not possible to be
able to check my e-mails
on my home PC and connect
to my office's
network.
