Check Point's Stranglehold Grows (11/28/00)
Today, Check Point showed off its hold on the firewall security market, unveiling a report by IDC stating the company expanded its market share to 41%. None of that means anything unless the company can sustain its competitive advantage, though, and one way the company is doing just that is by bundling virtual private network (VPN) software with its firewall applications. Check Point continues to gobble up market share in these two critical areas.
