Avaya to meld VPNs and VoIP (1/28/02)
Avaya is releasing a new VPN appliance that allows branch offices to send voice traffic over their VPN. This will allow branch offices to save money on phone bills. The voice packets are tagged and given priority over other traffic. VoIP VPN solutions are also available from Cisco and Netscreen.

Out of 4 Vendors, including Check Point, Nortel, Avaya and Lucent, Avaya won the 'Best in Test' award from Miercom.
